The General Slice Machine Company was founded in
the 1940s by the Harry Wiener family. Based in Brooklyn, New York, the company
was originally known for manufacturing hand-operated meat slicers and
hand-crank food grinders. Later in the 1960s, General expanded their product
line to include electric-operated slicers and grinders.
Today the General
Company manufactures a wide range of foodservice equipment for commercial
kitchens including Mixers, Food Warmers, and slicers.
