Commercial Dishwashers

Smeg Professional Commercial Dishwashers & Glasswashers

Less steam. Lower energy use. Cleaner ware every cycle.

The dishwash area rarely gets a breather. Glasses from the bar, plates from the pass, cutlery from every table and trays from prep all need to be washed, sanitised and back in circulation fast. From prep to the end of service, warewashing equipment is often running almost continuously to keep up with demand. After thousands of cycles a week, energy use, wash consistency and running costs are impossible to ignore.

At Industry Kitchens, we have supplied commercial dishwashers and glasswashers across Australia for over 20 years, from cafés, restaurants and bars to clubs, hotels, aged care providers and healthcare kitchens. We know that running out of clean plates or glasses can slow service just as quickly as running out of food.

Specifying a Smeg Professional Dishwasher or Glasswasher

Power catches more operators out than wash capacity. Not every site has three-phase power available, but that doesn't automatically rule out a passthrough machine, particularly within the Smeg Professional range. Just as important is how hard the machine will be worked. The more cycles it runs each day, the more heat, steam and operating costs matter. Glassware, crockery, cutlery, GN trays and bakery trays don't all place the same demands on a machine, so it's worth thinking about what actually needs washing before settling on a model.

Smeg Professional Warewashing FAQs

Is there a Smeg Professional passthrough dishwasher that runs on single-phase power?

Yes. The SPH505LAU15 is the only Smeg Professional passthrough dishwasher that runs on single-phase power (230V/15A). It's a practical option where a passthrough is required but three-phase power isn't available.

What power does the Smeg Professional ecoLINE underbench dishwasher require?

The ecoLINE range is available in 230V single-phase and 3.5kW configurations. The SPD505AU10 operates on a standard 10A circuit, making it one of the most accessible commercial dishwasher options where power availability is limited. The SPD505AU requires a 16A single-phase circuit. No Smeg Professional underbench dishwasher requires three-phase power.

What's the difference between the SPH505, SPH515 and SPH615 series?

The main differences come down to power, rack size and SHR+. The SPH505 and SPH515 series both use 500 × 500mm racks, with the SPH505 range including the only single-phase passthrough option in the Smeg Professional range. The SPH615 series uses a larger 600 × 500mm rack and is the only series that accommodates full-size EN 600 × 400 and GN 1/1 trays. Models with the HAU suffix include SHR+ steam heat recovery, helping reduce steam and energy consumption in the wash area.

Is SHR+ steam heat recovery worth considering?

Yes. SHR+ is worth considering for sites running high daily wash volumes. It captures and recovers exhaust steam, reducing heat and steam around the wash station while lowering energy consumption by up to 25%.

What is the Smeg Professional Fresh Water System and who is it designed for?

The SWT262TDAUS uses fresh, uncontaminated water for every rinse cycle, delivering the highest hygiene standard available in Smeg Professional warewashing. It's commonly specified for aged care, healthcare and other high-compliance environments.
