Warranty & Service Directory

Find your equipment manufacturer below to start a warranty claim, check coverage periods, or locate your nearest service agent across Australia.

Important things to know

These apply across the directory and change what you are covered for. Tap a heading to open it.

1. Residential addressesStoddart, SKOPE and Speed Queen restrict or exclude warranty at a home address

All Stoddart brands (Adande, Giorik, Simply Stainless, Synergy Grill, Turbochef, Woodson, and any other Stoddart-supplied brand) are supplied exclusively for the commercial market. Stoddart's published warranty states these products "are not designed nor intended for household or domestic use and must not be used for this purpose."

All SKOPE brands (SKOPE ActiveCore and ProSpec, IRINOX and Vitamix commercial) carry no residential warranty unless agreed in writing before purchase.

Speed Queen has also been advised to us as excluding residential addresses — confirm with the distributor before relying on it.

Commercial appliances are designed for use in commercial premises. They do not behave as expected in a domestic setting, and a residential installation may void the manufacturer's warranty entirely. Residential premises also rarely have the power supply commercial equipment requires — always confirm the required supply is available before taking delivery.

Buying a commercial appliance for a home? Do the homework before you order, not after it arrives. Commercial equipment is built to a different standard and behaves differently to the domestic version of the same appliance — different power and gas loads, water and drainage requirements, ventilation and clearances, noise, heat output, and duty cycles it expects to run at. A house is rarely set up for any of that.

Before you commit:

  • Read the specification sheet for the exact model — electrical supply and phase, gas type and pressure, water and waste, dimensions, clearances and ventilation.
  • Talk to your electrician, plumber and gasfitter first, with that spec sheet in hand, so they can tell you what the site can and cannot support before you buy.
  • Contact the manufacturer or importer and ask directly whether they will supply, support and warrant the appliance at a residential address.

None of this is optional caution. Site work discovered after delivery is expensive, and a unit that cannot be connected is still your unit.

Affected rows are marked No residential warranty in the table below. Use the No Residential Warranty button above to show only those brands. If you are unsure whether your site qualifies, contact us before you order.

2. Water qualityUntreated water voids warranties — and the limits are different for every brand

Water quality is a condition of warranty on most equipment that takes a water connection — not a recommendation. Scale and corrosion damage is one of the most commonly declined claims in the industry.

Why it gets claims declined. Manufacturers set limits on what the incoming water can contain. If the water is outside those limits and the equipment fails from scale, pitting or corrosion, the repair is generally not covered — even inside the warranty period, and even if nothing else was wrong with the machine. Some brands state a limit and hold you to it. Others state only that water quality is the owner’s responsibility, which leaves you with no number to prove you complied with.

The three readings that decide it:

ReadingWhat it tells you
Conductivity or TDSThe total dissolved mineral load
Total hardnessCalcium and magnesium, which form scale
ChlorideCauses pitting corrosion in stainless boilers and steam generators. The reading most often skipped, and the one that does the most expensive damage

Free chlorine and chloramine matter too, particularly for coffee equipment and steam ovens. On chloraminated supplies they usually force carbon filtration on their own.

More filtration is not better. Nearly every brand sets a minimum as well as a maximum. Water that is too pure becomes aggressive, leaches metal from boilers and evaporators, and can fall below the level some machines need to sense that water is present at all. Fitting reverse osmosis by default is a common and expensive mistake — it can cause fault codes, corrosion, cloudy ice and thin-tasting coffee. Reverse osmosis is the right answer for specific water conditions, usually blended, and not otherwise.

One filter will not serve the whole kitchen. Requirements genuinely conflict between appliance types. A glasswasher with a built-in softener needs mineral content in the water to work correctly; an espresso machine on the same bench may specify less than half that. Ice machines are damaged by both softened and reverse-osmosis water. Settle treatment at design stage while the plumbing can still be split — retrofitting a second treated line into a finished bench is expensive.

Softener, carbon filter and reverse osmosis are not interchangeable. They solve different problems, and several brands specifically rule out treatment types that other brands recommend — including salt-based softeners, which are correct for some equipment and prohibited on others. Polyphosphate scale-inhibitor cartridges are the cheapest option on the market and are expressly not permitted by several manufacturers. Do not fit treatment on assumption: tell us the model and we will check it against the current manufacturer specification.

What we do, and what we need from you:

  • Tell us the site address, and whether the supply is mains, tank or bore, before we quote.
  • We check your water against the specification for the exact models you are buying — limits vary by series and even by cavity material, not just by brand.
  • Where a manufacturer supplies its own test kit we use it, because that is the instrument their limits are written against.
  • We record the readings, the date and the source on your file at handover, so there is evidence of the water condition at installation if a claim is ever made.

Tank, bore and regional supplies. Rainwater tanks and bore water are outside most warranties without treatment, regardless of readings. Mains supplies also vary widely — soft in much of Melbourne, considerably harder in Adelaide, Perth and many regional areas — so equipment that needs no treatment on one site may need it on another.

Not sure where to start? Ask us for a water assessment before the plumbing is finalised. It takes three readings, costs far less than one declined warranty claim, and tells you exactly what each machine on your list requires.

3. Coffee machines & equipment12 months parts only — there is no labour warranty on coffee equipment

All commercial coffee machines and coffee equipment purchased from Industry Kitchens carry a 12-month parts-only warranty. There is no labour warranty on coffee equipment, regardless of brand. Parts only — no labour

This differs from the rest of the catalogue, which is why coffee is listed here rather than brand by brand in the table below.

For service, contact the manufacturer or importer directly — contact us and we will connect you with the right service department.

Coffee brands we supply: Dr. Coffee · Ditting · Fiorenzato · La Marzocco · Mahlkönig · Mazzer · Nuova Simonelli · Rancilio · Sanremo · Thermoplan · Victoria Arduino · Wega. View all commercial coffee machines

4. Delivery & transit damageYou have 24 hours to report damage — and it is a freight claim, not a warranty claim

Damage in transit must be reported within 24 hours of delivery. Miss that window and the carrier will argue the damage happened on your site after they left — and there is usually no way to prove otherwise.

It is not a warranty claim. A warranty covers a manufacturing fault in a working appliance; freight damage is a claim against the carrier, on a separate and much shorter clock. Calling the manufacturer about a dented door does not start the right process, and the days spent doing it come out of your 24 hours.

What to do on delivery day, in order:

StepWhat it protects
Inspect before you sign. Walk around the pallet or carton and look at the packaging as well as the unitAccepting the goods without comment is taken as agreement that they arrived in good order
Photograph everything — packaging on the pallet, the damage close up, the labels, and the paperworkPhotographs taken at the kerb are dated and hard to dispute
Email us within 24 hours with photos, the order number, and the model and serial numberStarts the claim inside the carrier’s reporting window

Concealed damage. Not every knock shows through the packaging. Unpack and check as soon as it lands, even if installation is weeks away — the 24 hours runs from delivery, not from the day you open it. If you cannot unpack straight away, photograph the packaging intact on arrival.

Call us while the driver is still there. If anything looks wrong, phone 1800 611 058 before the driver leaves. We can tell you on the spot whether to accept or refuse, and raise it with the carrier while their driver is in front of you. Once the truck has gone, your options narrow considerably.

Also worth knowing. Standard delivery is non-timed, curbside or ground-level — the driver does not carry goods inside, unpack, or remove rubbish, and someone must be on site to sign. Report damage to [email protected]. See our Terms & Conditions.

5. InstallationWho is legally allowed to connect your equipment — and what you can safely do yourself

Installation is always by a qualified technician. Beyond being a warranty condition for most brands, connecting commercial equipment to gas, water or fixed electrical supply is licensed work in every Australian state. An unlicensed connection can void the warranty, fail an inspection, and invalidate your insurance.

ConnectionWho must do itWhat you should receive
GasLicensed gasfitter, to AS/NZS 5601.1Gas compliance certificate
Water & drainageLicensed plumber, to AS/NZS 3500Compliance certificate; backflow device tested and registered where required
Fixed electricalLicensed electricianCertificate of Electrical Safety / Compliance

WaterMark. Any product that connects to the drinking water supply must be WaterMark certified under the Plumbing Code of Australia, and must be installed by a licensed plumber. That covers dishwashers and glasswashers, combi ovens, ice machines, boiling and chilled water units, tapware, sinks and troughs. A WaterMark appliance connected by anyone else is not a compliant installation, whatever the warranty says.

Ice machines — water filter. Every ice machine brand requires a WaterMark-approved water filter to be fitted at installation. This is a condition of warranty, not a recommendation: scale and sediment damage from unfiltered supply is one of the most common reasons an ice machine claim is refused. Fit the filter the manufacturer specifies, and keep the replacement cartridge on a service schedule.

Coolrooms — MISA. MISA modular coolrooms need a qualified electrician to connect the refrigeration and controls. They do not require a plumber, because there is no waste point to connect — the Freeblock refrigeration unit has a built-in condensate system that deals with the condensate itself rather than draining it away. Panel assembly does not need a licensed trade; the electrical connection does.

Canopies — XtractAir and Xtracta. Pre-engineered to AS 1668.2, so a standard installation needs no mechanical consultant. The canopy itself takes a licensed electrician and, where the roof is cut, a licensed roof plumber. Sizing, make-up air and sign-off are in the Exhaust Canopy Guide.

What you can do yourself. Anything that does not connect to gas, water or fixed wiring is fair game for a competent handy person — stainless benches, shelving, trolleys, sink stands, dry storage, castors and legs, and plug-in benchtop equipment that simply goes into an existing power point. Assembling flat-packed stainless or bolting on a shelf will not affect your warranty.

Not sure which trades your order needs? Contact us before delivery and we will tell you what has to be booked.

6. CommissioningSome brands will not honour a warranty on equipment that was never properly commissioned

Commissioning is the start-up check after installation — gas pressures and combustion, water quality and pressure, electrical supply, calibration, a test cycle, and a handover. It is not the same as installation, and it is not the same as registration. Some brands treat it as a condition of the warranty.

Commissioning by an authorised technician is a warranty condition. The rule of thumb: combi ovens and conveyor or flight-type warewashers need commissioning. Rational, Giorik, Hounö, MKN, Convotherm and UNOX all require it before the unit is used, as do Hobart conveyor and flight machines, Meiko and Winterhalter. It is free of charge.

BrandWhat their terms say
WinterhalterWarranty excluded where the machine was installed by a non-authorised technician and has not been commissioned by a Winterhalter or authorised partner technician. Water must also be under 3°dH
MeikoSame construction — excluded where installed by a non-Meiko-trained engineer and not commissioned by Meiko Australia Pacific or an authorised partner
IRINOX (SKOPE)Full warranty applies only where installed by a SKOPE-approved installer; otherwise it drops to 1 year parts only. Six-monthly preventive maintenance also required, at your cost
SKOPE remote systemsWarranty is void if a remote refrigeration installation is not correctly commissioned
Convotherm (Moffat)Combi ovens require commissioning before the unit is used
UNOX all rangesCommissioning required, and provided free by UNOX Australia — gas ovens included. Book on +61 3 9876 0803
Cuppone (via Comcater)Requires commissioning — book through Comcater before the oven is used
ABP Atlas some productsSome ABP products require commissioning — it is model dependent, so confirm for yours before the unit is used
MKN combi ovens (via Phoeniks)Combi ovens require commissioning. MKN combis also carry 36 months parts and labour, ahead of the Phoeniks 24-month standard
Hounö combi ovens (Invoq, via Middleby)Combi ovens require commissioning. Middleby also require installation by a licensed tradesperson and the registration card returned within 14 days
Washtech conveyor & flight machines onlyRack conveyor and flight-type warewashers require commissioning. Undercounter and passthrough do not. Moffat also exclude faults arising from improper installation or commissioning
Hobart conveyor & flight machines onlyConveyor and flight-type warewashers require commissioning. Undercounter and hood machines do not
Giorik combi ovens (Stoddart)Combi ovens require commissioning. Also conditional on registration within 90 days, Stoddart-recommended chemicals, filter changes every 6–8 months, and a committed annual maintenance regime at the customer's cost
Rational (via Comcater)Commissioning by Comcater is mandatory before the unit is used — operating it beforehand breaches the manufacturer's warranty. It is free of charge, but the unit must be fully installed and connected by a qualified contractor first
Smeg ProfessionalA commissioning / warranty activation form is supplied inside the appliance. If it is not returned, the 24 months runs from invoice date instead of installation

Not commissioning as such — but the installation must be right, and provable

  • Rational — beyond the mandatory commissioning above, the warranty also does not apply if the installation checklist and manual are not followed, and Rational requires ongoing access to device data. Chef handover training on site is free.
  • UNOX — UNOX Australia commission free of charge, gas ovens included. Their published warranty conditions are separate and digital: the oven must be connected to the internet and registered within 30 days and installed per the UNOX installation checklist. Book commissioning on +61 3 9876 0803. A licensed gasfitter is still required to connect and certify the gas.
  • Stoddart — a current gas compliance certificate is required for gas installations. Giorik combi ovens additionally require commissioning, registration within 90 days and a committed annual maintenance regime at your cost (see above).
  • Middleby (Goldstein, Eswood) and Moffat — both require installation by a licensed tradesperson, and Moffat excludes faults arising from improper installation or commissioning.
  • La Marzocco — filtered water to spec and annual service by an approved technician.
  • Comcater brands — Comcater commission the brands they distribute. Rational is the one we can confirm is mandatory before use; for other Comcater brands, ask whether your model needs it when you book delivery. Booking details are on the Commissioning button in the table — hover or tap the i beside it.

Gas is the one case where the law decides, not the brand — and it applies to every gas appliance, UNOX and Rational included. A licensed gasfitter must commission the appliance to the manufacturer's instructions under AS/NZS 5601.1 and issue a gas compliance certificate. That is a legal requirement in every state, regardless of what the warranty says.

What it costs. The manufacturers and importers listed above commission free of charge — UNOX, Rational, Winterhalter, Meiko, SKOPE and IRINOX, Smeg Professional and Comcater all provide it at no cost, and Rational include chef handover training on site as well. What you do pay for is the licensed trade work — the gasfitter, plumber or electrician who connects and certifies the appliance — and any ongoing maintenance a warranty makes a condition, such as Giorik's annual planned maintenance or IRINOX's six-monthly preventive service. If you are unsure whether your equipment needs commissioning, ask us before delivery — it is far cheaper to book it in than to lose a warranty over it.

7. Registering your warrantySome brands won't cover you at all unless you register — others give you extra years if you do

Buying the equipment does not always start the warranty. Many manufacturers and importers ask you to register the unit with them, and the deadline is usually counted from delivery or installation, not from when you get around to it. Registration falls into two quite different categories, and it matters which one you are dealing with.

1. Standard procedure — registration is a condition of cover. Miss the window and the warranty is reduced or void, no matter how valid the fault is. This is the one that bites.

Brand / groupDeadlineWhat happens if you miss it
Middleby (all 13 brands)14 daysRegistration card must be returned or the warranty is void — one form covers the whole group
Henny Penny10 days from installationRegistration is required to validate the warranty
Giorik (Stoddart)90 daysRegistration required for the 24-month term
UNOX LL4 / LL530 daysUnit must be connected and registered for the long-life terms
B+S14 days from installationWarranty conditions are void unless the activation form is completed and signed by both the customer and the authorised installer and returned within 14 days

2. Promotional or bonus extension — registration buys you more. The standard warranty stands either way, but registering adds time. This is free money if you do it, and quietly lost if you don't.

Brand / groupDeadlineWhat you gain
Zanussi (Luus)30 days12 months becomes 24 months parts & labour, free of charge
Hoshizaki30 days+6 months on ice machines, +12 months on fridges and freezers
Meiko90 days12 months becomes 24 months
Adande (Stoddart)90 days60 months parts cover
Adler / Anvil (ICE)4 weeks+1 month bonus
SammicWarranty card returned12 months becomes 18 months

Some brands need nothing. Bromic, True Refrigeration and Moffat apply their full term automatically from purchase, and Liebherr treats registration as helpful but optional. Check your brand's row in the table below — the Registration column says which camp it falls into.

Have these ready: model number, serial number, date of purchase, a copy of the invoice, the installation date, and who installed and commissioned it. Serial numbers are on the rating plate, which is often behind or underneath the unit — photograph it before the equipment is pushed into place, because it can be unreadable afterwards.

Two things that catch people out. Registration is normally the owner's job, not the installer's — do not assume your trade has done it. And the clock usually runs from delivery or installation, so a unit that sits in storage for a month has already burned part of its window. Register on the day it is commissioned and keep the confirmation email with your invoice.

If you are not sure whether your equipment needs registering, contact us and we will check it against the manufacturer's current terms.

8. Credit card before a warranty call-outWhy some manufacturers ask for card details before they will attend

Several manufacturers and importers will not book a warranty service call until they hold credit card details. This is normal in commercial foodservice and it does not mean you are being charged for warranty work.

Why they ask. A technician's time has to be paid for whether or not the fault turns out to be covered. A large share of call-outs are found to be outside warranty — no fault found, a tripped breaker or isolation switch, a blocked drain or filter, incorrect installation or commissioning, unstable power, gas or water supply, missed servicing or cleaning, damage from misuse, or a consumable part such as a globe, seal, gasket or blade. In those cases the manufacturer would otherwise be left carrying the cost of a visit that was never a warranty matter. Holding a card up front lets them dispatch the technician immediately instead of waiting for a purchase order.

What actually happens. In most cases it is a pre-authorisation — a temporary hold, not a charge. If the fault is covered by warranty, nothing is taken and the hold drops off. If the fault is found to be outside warranty, the call-out fee, labour and any parts are charged, and you should be told the rate before the technician attends.

The forms it takes. Practice differs from one importer to the next, and most fall into one of these patterns: card details required before a warranty service call will be booked at all; a pre-authorisation hold placed for the inspection fee; a fixed pre-deposit taken from prepaid customers and refunded once the claim is found valid; written confirmation accepted in place of a card that you will pay for any non-warranty work; a card requested at the importer’s discretion on any service request, warranty or otherwise; or card details collected on the service call form itself. Check the row for your brand and the importer’s own service terms — they set the rule, and it can change.

Before you agree. Ask what the call-out fee and hourly rate are, and ask them to confirm in writing that nothing will be charged if the fault is covered. Have your invoice, model and serial number ready — a claim that stalls for want of proof of purchase can turn into a chargeable second visit.

9. Service & travelHow to read that column — on-site vs return-to-base, distance limits and after-hours charges

A warranty covers the fault. It does not automatically cover getting a technician to your door. The Service & Travel column tells you how each manufacturer delivers the repair, and what you may still have to pay for.

The two service models

  • On-site — a technician attends your premises. Standard for large, fixed or plumbed equipment.
  • Return to base (R2B) — you deliver or freight the unit to the service agent and collect it afterwards. Standard for benchtop and portable equipment. Several suppliers apply R2B to anything that fits in a standard vehicle, and freight both ways is usually at your cost.

Distance is measured from the agent, not from you. This is the most common misunderstanding. Limits such as 50km, 100km or a 200km round trip are measured from the nearest authorised service agent or metro centre — not from the manufacturer's head office, and not from your address. Two businesses the same distance from a capital city can get different answers depending on where the closest agent happens to be.

Beyond the limit, treatment varies and the difference matters. Some suppliers charge for the excess travel — Moffat quotes rates on application beyond a 200km round trip. Others do not cover it at all: Middleby lists travel beyond 100km as an exclusion, so the visit becomes your cost, not a discounted one. A few reduce cover instead — Meiko drops to parts-only in year two outside its 100km metro radius.

Business hours are part of the warranty. Most networks work 8am–4pm or 8am–4.30pm, Monday to Friday. Work outside those hours is generally available but attracts penalty rates that you pay even on a valid claim. If you can only shut the kitchen down on a Sunday, budget for it.

Commonly excluded even when the claim is valid: travel and mileage beyond the stated radius, accommodation and transport for remote sites (flights and ferries), site inductions, freight, after-hours and public-holiday labour, and any second visit caused by missing paperwork or no access to the equipment.

Regional and remote sites. If you are outside a capital city, check this column before you buy, not after something breaks. A five-year warranty from a brand with no agent in your state can be worth less in practice than two years from one that has a technician an hour away. If you are unsure who covers your postcode, ask us before you order.

Please note: all standard and extended warranties listed below are subject to current manufacturer and importer promotions, and to confirmation by the importer or manufacturer. Periods and conditions change without notice — confirm the terms that apply to your model at the time of purchase.

Brand not listed?Contact UsIf your brand isn't shown above, call 1800 611 058 or email [email protected] — our team will connect you with the right manufacturer or importer service department. We work with 160+ suppliers across Australia.
No brands match your search. Try a different keyword or contact us for help.

Residential addresses: Stoddart's published warranty excludes household or domestic use across its whole portfolio. SKOPE brands carry no residential warranty unless agreed in writing before purchase. Speed Queen's residential exclusion is to be confirmed with the distributor. Other manufacturers may also refuse or void warranty where commercial equipment is installed in a domestic setting. Commercial appliances are built for commercial premises, do not behave as expected in a home, and usually require more power than a residential supply provides. Confirm your site and power supply before taking delivery.

Service terms: "On-site" generally means metropolitan areas during business hours. Most brands apply regional travel charges outside metro or beyond a set distance (e.g., 50 km for some networks; 100 km for Middleby). "R2B" means Return-to-Base — the customer is responsible for shipping the unit to the service agent. "P&L" means parts and labour.

Before you claim: Always check that your equipment has been correctly installed and connected to the specified power, gas, and water supply, by appropriately qualified and licensed trades. Consumables and wear parts (globes, seals, blades, filters, gaskets) are typically excluded from warranty, as are glass panels, light globes, and heat lamp glass. Some manufacturers require credit card details before attending, to cover call-out fees where the fault is found to be outside warranty.

Warranty terms are not fixed. All standard and extended warranties shown here are subject to current manufacturer and importer promotions, and to confirmation by the importer or manufacturer. A period that applied last quarter may not apply to your unit.

Accuracy: Every entry in this directory was checked against the manufacturer's or Australian distributor's own published warranty in August 2026. Rows marked Supplier to confirm details show our best current understanding — confirm the exact period with the supplier at point of sale. Warranty terms are set by each manufacturer and change without notice; the manufacturer's current published warranty prevails over this guide. If anything here looks out of date, please let us know.
